Australia is synonymous with premium quality wool that is recognized the world over, and it is solely where we source all ISĒ wool from. The experienced local wool processors with whom we collaborate ensure the Australian wool which we utilise is sheared exclusively from the prized Poll Dorset breed of sheep. The short wool sheared from this particular breed is highly prestigious, not only because of its unique springy texture but also because of its rarity. On average, each Poll Dorset sheep yields approximately 2kgs of wool a year, which is significantly less than that which is yielded by more common breeds of sheep, which is why this type of wool is highly sought after globally.
This superior quality Australian wool is both soft and naturally breathable. A fibre that has been thousands of years in the making, ISĒ wool products perfectly encapsulate this immense savoir-faire. It is a material that is high on thermal ability, for it actively adapts to changes in temperature, ensuring that you stay warm when the weather is cold, and cool when the weather is hot. Naturally hypoallergenic and absorbent, wool is able to absorb twice as much moisture as cotton and ten times as much as polyester.
Remaining true to ISĒ’s principles of sustainability, wool is one of the most readily biodegradable and less environmentally impactful fibres available.
